Personnel Management
System is based on the software development
paradigm of incorporating industry
standards compliant ease-of-use features.
With easy flow layout of user interaction
forms, easily recognizable items and
intuitive screens, the system requires
minimally invasive user interaction.
Coupled with robust and customized
security features, Personnel Management
System ensures that at no stage is
the system integrity and data atomicity
is corrupted.

The main screen allows 4 different
modular operations to be performed
on the system - Maintenance, Transaction,
Report and Utility.

| The Personnel Management
System has extensive security
features that are easy to setup
and update. The Screen Access
is limited by the User Id, data
access is definable to LoginID.
The Personnel Management System
allows Area Code-wise (predefined
by BSNL Calcutta Telephones) with
only 'Admin' Login Id having administrator
rights for database wide access
for modification and various other
activities. In all other cases,
the user is granted permissions
to 'print' (and view within limits)
data specific to the Area Code
login. Screenshots showing Password
form for database maintenance
activities. |
 |
| |
 |
| The Personnel Management System
is based on the concept of Login
ID based access rights. Any user
logging in from an area that is
not 'Admin' possesses rights to
enter bio data and other details
specific to the login area. |
 |
| |
| Posting or transfers can be
internal and/or external. The
Login ID based conditional access
is also implement in such transaction
processing for Posting. Internal
transfers are within the Area/Circle. |

of previously entered and existing
Bio data in case of errors and
omissions based on User Login
or Area specific rights. |
 |
| Any Update Request invoked by
the end-users generates an entry
in the Report Section for perusal
and action. The screenshot depicts
an Update Request from the Admin
Area. |

The Personnel Management System
incorporates Area based restriction
as business logic by utilizing
the Cadre Group of the Personnel
of BSNL (Calcutta Telephones).
Each employee who has records
in the system is part of a specified
group. The Personnel Management
System ensures that employees
from Group-D/Group-C/Group-B (JTO)
have modification and access rights
restricted to the specific area.
Personnel belonging to Group-B
(above JTO)/Group-A have rights
that are based on the HQ area.
Thus, in other words, the Personnel
Management System allows cadre
up to Group-B (JTO) to view all
records but print/modify only
those that are specific to the
Area. Personnel with Admin rights
can view/modify/print all records
over the zones under the jurisdiction
of Calcutta Telephones.
Special Report feature of Personnel
Management System incorporates
fully customized search based
on standard SQL99 compliant query
set on the entire data tables.
The Special Report tool is a unique
feature of the system. Based on
the easy layout of query points,
the user is asked to choose from
drop-down menus to create a standard
SQL query which runs with an optimized
query plan tuned to deliver the
fastest response times.
Querying is based on access rights
granted to the User Logon as part
of the business transaction logic
of the system. Only Admin login
grants complete read-write privileges.
In all other cases it allows viewing
of record set data yet forbids
printing of data/result set not
granted to the user. |

login based on the system logic.
Only Admin personnel are allowed
to print complete query records
generated. |

Personnel Management System
has a highly optimized database
backend with query plans created
to ensure quickest response time
to even deeply nested queries
following SQL99 standard syntax.
